When we are in a state of relaxation, deep meditation, hypnosis or in a dream state, brain frequency is reduced to Alpha and Theta brain waves. Deep sleep without dreams is an even lower, frequency - Delta brain waves - this is where the body regenerates itself.
The sound of the gong redirects our focus to the right hemisphere of the brain, letting the left hemisphere quiet, allowing the listener to produce Alfa, then Theta and even Delta brain waves.
When we are in Theta, several things can happen - visions, release of repressed emotions subconscious memories, dreams, past life experiences, enlightenment.
